Abstract

This thesis begins point of view like what kind of core ability Ulsan port with geographical position of advantage should have to be international liquid logistics hub port beyond northeast Asia.

The first purpose of this thesis is that in order to secure competitive advantage the thesis draws core competence factors in Ulsan port by comparing or analyzing oil gas supply and demand of world or northeast Asia, shipping harbors physical distribution environment analysis, and port competition

Secondly, that kind of core ability suggests international competitiveness for Ulsan port to be international liquid logistics hub port by objectively evaluating world or northeast Asia liquid logistics hub port how important it is.

According to derived core ability evaluation, the customizable machine value chain port in the software factor, location in the environmental factor and the upgrading of port function in the hardware factor are important to be analyzed.

Moreover, high importance instead of low performance presents strategic government support to fulfill the liquid hub port. The objective result is drawn from its customers who think the Ulsan airport is insufficient at current level.

There are means in this thesis. It implements positive research in Ulsan port such as largest liquid port which lacks of research compared to container port and presents the result of research in terms of equipped core ability to be Ulsan port which leads country and national economy in change of the world environmental conditions like soaring liquid materials supply and demand.

Moreover, this thesis will contribute the Ulsan port to leap as a hub for liquid material harbor by suggesting priorities to become harbor of the world.
